Junior AI Artist
Help us blend cutting-edge AI techniques with time-tested VFX craft. We’re launching a new project that combines traditional pipelines with AI workflows we’ve been developing in-house. If you’ve got an eye for composition, lighting, and motion—and you’re excited to learn—this role is for you. Training and mentorship will be provided to help you apply AI tools in a production environment.
Contract: Immediate start through mid–late February 2026
Schedule: Full-time (40+ hours/week); some overtime as needed
Location: Hybrid — 1–2 days/week onsite in our Los Angeles studio; remainder remote via secure VPN
Compensation: $20–$25/hour (commensurate with experience)
What you’ll do
Create and refine shots using AI-assisted methods alongside traditional VFX techniques
Develop hero frames and maintain style continuity using inpainting and LoRA/diffusion-based workflows
Contribute to experiments enhancing animation, crowd simulations, creature FX, and environment generation
Collaborate closely with supervisors and other artists to iterate quickly and maintain visual quality
What you bring
Strong visual instincts — composition, lighting, and motion
Familiarity with AI methodologies (e.g., training or using LoRA/diffusion for face replacements, digital doubles, beauty work)
Basic understanding of inpainting and frame-to-frame style transfer
Curiosity about modern VFX and virtual production tools (Unreal Engine, motion capture, Gaussian splats, real-time rendering, volumetric capture)
Some fluency in traditional VFX disciplines (animation, lighting/compositing, set extension, crowd sims)
Collaborative, proactive, and open to learning — especially in a fast-evolving tech space
Eligible to work in the U.S. and available for a hybrid schedule
Tools you’ll use (or learn)
ComfyUI (or similar generative AI tools)
Midjourney, Topaz (or similar image creation software)
